We had this dream to travel already for a long time and a lot of people share this dream. But there is a big gap between saying it and eventually taking the leap to do it. Leaving everything behind to explore the world is a big step, and you need the courage to do it. So a lot of people are coming up with excuses like “I can’t quit my job” or “I don’t have enough money”. So we’ll show you in which ways you can save enough money to travel the world.

You’ve probably heard of Airbnb before, that booking site where you can stay at a localโs place for half the price of a hotel. But have you tried it yet? If you didnโt, thatโs a shame! Because you could have saved loads of money by doing it. We understand that not every aspect of the Airbnb concept is clear for everyone, so weโve made this beginners guide that will help you to make your first stay as pleasant as possible.
When going on a long-term travel adventure or any other backpacking trip, one of the most important things is what to take and how to pack. Your backpack will be your house during your whole trip. So itโs important to have the essentials with you while keeping it light. Itโs easy to overpack and it can happen very quickly. Which is logical. The first time you pack, youโll pack for the โwhat ifโ situations. This usually occurs when you have no idea what may await you. We had the same problem in the beginning. To be fair, we already sent a package back home the first week of our trip with things we actually didnโt need to carry along. We wrote this to help fellow adventurers, so they donโt make the same mistake we did. Of course, not everyone travels the same like us, and everyone has its personal needs. But find out our packing list to travel around for more than a year and how we try to keep it light! We hope this will help you to pack smart and as light as possible!

After finishing the Mongol Rally, we decided to drive the car back to Belgium. This way, we had the time to explore more cities. One of these was Moscow. Weโve heard a lot of Moscow, about how big and magnificent the city is, so we were pretty stoked to see it with our own eyes. We must say, itโs well worth a visit. Unfortunately, our visaโs were going to expire in a few days, so we just had the time to visit the city in a little more than 24 hours. Our day was well-filled. If youโre like us and donโt have a lot of time to visit the city, you can follow our one-day itinerary or get some ideas on what to do.
It has been exactly one year since we left on our long-term travel journey. In this period, we already had the time of our lives and we had several crazy experiences along the way. From sleeping on a military base to looking inside an active volcano, find out our best travel experiences of the last year!
From the bustling city to the calmness of the countryside in just two hours of traveling. The diversity in its geographical landscapes, the great (and sometimes bizarre) food and the culture of China appealed us already for a long time. Traveling through this country first looked difficult because of the language barrier, the extreme difference in culture and the overpopulation. But it was a great experience! It became our starting point for our travels around Asia because it was the perfect way to indulge ourselves in the Asian cultures and their way of life. When we arrived in Hong Kong and started planning our itinerary, we didnโt found any useful information online on what to choose as our next destination with Hong Kong as our starting point. Thatโs why we want to share our one month itinerary with you, so you can get to see some of the coolest things that China has to offer!
