Welcome to our travel blog! We are Myrthe & Thomas, a young and adventurous couple that always dreamt about traveling around the world on a budget. We don’t consider budget travel as a limit but more as a freedom to get the most out of local experiences.
Once we saved enough money, we stopped dreaming about it and started doing it. We’ve quit our jobs to start exploring what this world has to offer. We wanted to break free from this 9 to 5 lifestyle.
no·mad (nō′măd′)
- 1. A member of a group of people who have no fixed home and move according to the seasons from place to place in search of food, water, and grazing land.
- 2. A person with no fixed residence who roams about; a wanderer.
We started our journey with our biggest adventure yet! We’ve participated in the Mongol Rally, driving from London to Mongolia in a crappy car of no more than 1100cc to raise money for charity. Reaching Mongolia without any support, nor help from the organization wasn’t easy, but we did it together and learned a lot about the generosity of people!
Plan in decades. Think in years. Work in months. Live in days!
After the rally, we drove back home with our old Lada to bring him safely home, and a few days later we were already on a plane to Hong Kong. Now we’re traveling through Asia. Our plans are to travel further to Australia, New-Zealand and eventually America and Canada if our budget allows us to.
We want to show you guys that traveling can be fun and adventurous, doesn’t need to be expensive and that it’s safe to travel around.
Hopefully, we can inspire you to do the same as we did!
